The Southwinds Marina is located off of US-90 at the Lake Amistad resservoir. Launch your own boat off of our ramp or rent pontoon, kayaks, fishing, and water ski boats. We have inner tubes, water skiis, and life vests. Or rent a cabin and enjoy a view of the lake. There is also a pavilion, playground, basketball courts, and a FAMCAMP.

Adventure Race VIII
Join us in April for the Annual Adventure Race. Get a team together and test your endurance with 7 miles of running, 28 miles of biciycling, and kayaking in the Del Rio area.
Equipment Rentals
Outdoor Recreation provides equipment rental services for Laughlin AFB. Equipment Check-Out has an array of quality recreational equipment. See us for camping equipment, self-contained travel trailers that sleep 2-4 people, sports, leisure, lawn care equipment, rollaway beds, and bikes. If you're having a big party, we have banquet tables and chairs, barbecue grills, smokers, bouncy castles and canopies.
Reservations can be made 30 days in advance for active duty personnel and up to two weeks in advance for DoD and NAF employees, retirees, reservists, and long-term contractors
Horse Stables
Laughlin AFB Saddle Club & Horse Stables is administered by Outdoor Recreation. Horses located at the stables are privately owned and not for rent.
Laughlin maintains 15 stalls. Rental is $20 per month. Stalls are available for active duty personnel, their dependents, retirees, and DoD civilians. Stall rental is on a space-available basis only.
Also featured are a tack room, an exercise/training arena, pastures, and turn-outs. The stables facility is self-care. All occupants are required to assist in any labors necessary to keep facilities safe, clean and functional. A list of occupant responsibilities is maintained by Outdoor Recreation.
Foals less than six months old and stallions are not allowed. Current health certificate and inoculation records must be submitted before bringing a horse to the stables. A list of required immunizations is maintained by Outdoor Recreation.

Trap and Skeet
Laughlin AFB Trap and Skeet Range is administered by Outdoor Recreation. The range is open to active duty personnel, dependents, retirees, and DoD civilians. Individuals need to provide their own equipment. Clay targets are available for a nominal fee.
A Range Safety Officer must be present at all times. Outdoor Recreation has a list of officers that you can make an appointment with.

FAMCAMP
The FAMCamp area consists of 20 spaces for overnight recreational vehicle (RV) parking available to retirees and military identification card holders. Located behind the Base Exchange, the FAMCamp offers concrete parking pads with electric, water, sewer, and cable television hookups.
From October through April, our Camp Host is located at FamCamp and will assist with check-in. Check-out time is noon on the day of scheduled departure.
Check-ins may also be made at the Outdoor Recreation office, Building 511, located at the corner of Liberty Street and Georgia Street, during the hours of operation listed at right.
Fees for FamCamp, due prior to stay, are as follows:

All fees are for full hook-up. Checks may be made payable to Outdoor Recreation and require name, rank, branch of service and status, RV space number, social security number, and home address.
The maximum length of stay is 60 consecutive days. Patrons must then vacate FamCamp for a minimum of 30 days.
The Wing Commander may waive the minimum and maximum limits to accommodate special requests for active duty Air Force members.
Pets are welcome at FamCamp; however, we ask that they be on a leash at all times while outside the RV. Pets may not be left unattended outside
