Laughlin
Air Force Base
Private Organizations
Private Organizations
(PO) are self-sustaining, special interest groups set up by
people acting exclusively outside the scope of any official
capacity as officers, employees or agents of the federal
government. POs operate on Laughlin AFB with the written
consent of the 47 FTW Commander or his designee
to provide a positive contribution to the lives of base
personnel. An example of a PO is a squadron booster club.
Unofficial
Activities/organizations (UA) are small groups of
individuals that are not required to be formally established
as PO because their current assets (including cash,
investments, inventory and receivables) do not exceed a
monthly average of $1,000 over a three month period.
Examples would be the squadron coffee fund, flower fund, or
one time fundraisers.
Base Fundraiser Policy
Any and all fundraisers held on base must be approved
by the Force Support Squadron Resource Manager(47FSS/FSR).
Please complete the following steps to ensure your
fundraiser is approved in a timely manner. Fundraisers
cannot be allowed during the CFC or AFAF campaigns.
1. Be familiar with AFI 34-223 and the Private
Organization Handbook.
2. Be established as an unofficial activity,
or a PO.
3. Download the fundraiser request form.
4. Complete and route the form.
5. Do not advertise or conduct your fundraising event
until after final
approval. Any advertising must be conducted in accordance
with AFI 34-223. Paragraphs 10.1, 10.9, and 10.15 have
specific guidelines.
POs are required to maintain a
constitution/bylaws, officers roster,
insurance (or waiver), meeting
minutes, and financial information, which are
updated regularly or if a change occurs.
Unofficial activities must maintain an officers roster
and financial information, but may be subject to more
frequent financial audits. For specific update requirements,
see the handbook or contact the PO Monitor.
To become a PO or unofficial activity, submit the relevant
documents on the right to 47FSS/FSR, Bldg. 235.
POs/UAs will be approved by the Mission
Support Group Commander (MSG/CC), fundraisers by the
Resource Manager (47FSS/FSR). |
